My ex-husband served in Viet Nam, was injured and is now on 100% disability due to his emotional breakdowns over many years. He physically and emotionally abused me. He is married for the 5th time and his last 3 children were given up for adoption. PTSD exists, believe me! Picture yourself in a war and having to do what these fine men are doing to protect our country. Would you be the same person when you returned as you were when you left?

Hello, my prayers are with you. I myself as wellas my husband (deceased) had PTSD due to another war our contry was in (VietNam). Believe me when I say that it is a hell like nothing else, both for the veterans and their families. Please know that there are others out here praying for this to end and hopefully for your husband to come home, although broken. I know the families that he has affected want closure, but putting him away for life or worse is not the right answers to get. I amsending prayers and hugs to you and yours. Bonita

My prayers are with you and your family. I am the wife of a deployed soldier and ptsd is a bigger fear then anything else. Just know that you have many many people out there praying for you, people writing you hate mail have absolutely no clue what you and other military families are dealing with.

Hello! i just read about your problem(and it is a problem). And "Yes!" the VA counsilors probably were directed not to diagnose PTSD because of the possibility of having to pay out disability but this is the whole headset of the military and its' consituents like the VA. Tell you one thing do another. Promises made and the reneging on them as they see fit. i am a Viet Nam combat veteran diagonosed 100% PTSD and empathise with the problem at hand here. The VA and the us government do not want to accept resposibility for thier actions in sending folks off to kill others, exposing them to incredibly high risk situations, observing thier fellow vets being screwed up in front of thier eyes, watching others being totally wasted by thier guns,etc.,etc. War is a traumatic experience. The government knows this before they send people into the arena. They need to be held accountable for thier part of the action of whatever happens after the fact. Those vets who have been exposed to any type of action need to file a claim for disability. They need to hold our VA and government accountable for what they have perpatraited. The word needs to be sent out to all veterans of combat that this is the only way to have the government say,"I am sorry for dismanteling your life." Please write me back,if you can.you have my e. Hang in there and don't take NO for an answer. blessed be, billy tw

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I've just seen this and I am sickened to hear of yet another family destroyed by PTSD. Please know there are thousands of people praying for you and who know what you're dealing with. My father had PTSD before I was born. I've lived with it and seen what it can do. Please feel free to email if you need an ear. Much love to you!

I was glad to see how in-depth the writer went into the effects and severity of PTSD. Every bit of it is true. I'm hoping it will help those who don't understand see what we already know. Thank you again for the update.
